Carabistouille

Je l'ai aperçu une fois dans notre jardin. Il serait peu fréquent dans le nord de la Belgique.

Celui-ci a été photographié en Ariège, dans le jardin créé à côté de la serre aux papillons exotiques pour attirer les papillons régionaux.

Il s'agit du Machaon (Papilio machaon) en compagnie d'une Belle-dame (Vanessa cardui) .

Son envergure est comprise entre 70 et 90 mm.

Il est facilement reconnaissable à ses ailes jaunes à taches noires.

Son vol est rapide et glissant.

Les ailes postérieures sont ornées d'une tache ocellée rouge orangé et se terminent par une longue pointe noire, comme une « queue ». Il en tire son surnom de « Grand porte-queue ».

Cette Belle-Dame (Vanessa cardui) s'est attardée un instant sur cet arbre à papillons qui fleurit dans notre jardin. Et cela, pour le plus grand plaisir du photographe.
